I went the other day and firstly the prices were eye watering. The service was OK, couldn't handle large groups and were friendly but not capable. The good was sub par. The prawns had a batter that did it's level best to try to conceal the taste of the prawn! The ghee roast was an oily mess. Yes it was soulless and only for the gram. Def no for me

All hotel nd restaurant book order on previous day and provide fresh to people who ordered previously so that no fridge food , no wastage of food or energy nd worthy to all .

Everything is corporate like. Everything is process oriented. Chefs/cools are just a gear in a big machinery. So, it is hard have unique, l rememberable taste in food.

Absolutely rightly said sir. It’s only the dessert which was appealing to us.We make a better mutton ghee roast than them. It’s just beautiful ambiance & IG purpose. The staff too has attitude if you don’t pre book your table,especially the ushering girls.😁😁We don’t blame them coz they have been briefed so…. They are the reasons of not getting even House keeping guys now at reasonable salaries.These restaurants are spoiling the entire restaurant business.The owners are moneyed and they pay anything to acquire anyone. It’s a sad situation. People like us work all day long to retain staff ,customers,etc.

I still feel, small scale establishments, whose attention more towards food than ambiance, whose cuisine has developed from generations together - beginning with home style cooking, they alone are genuine towards Food these days!! Rest are commercial establishments whose focus is making money through outward appearance. Where as, the restaurants mentioned above, do make money no doubt, through their dishes!! Especially biryanis have become overrated than ehat it really tastes. It has given me a confidence to start my own homemade biryani and soon planning to start kitchen delivery but not a hotel. Recently had Ambur biryani and it is just a tomato rice calling it as biryani

Places like these are just for celebrations / kitty parties where, nowadays, ambiance is what primarily matters as it's being done for instagram anyway.

In simple words taste and ambience are two independent entities. When one goes for ambience taste sincerely is not a criteria Taste on the other hand depends on the food itself and can be anywhere Lastly taste is also a factor of the state of mind and hunger level Like the old saying goes "Hunger is the best sauce" Therefore we should effectively not connect these two

I have reduced dining at most of these fancy restaurants as I feel that you are just Paying a "Fine" in the name of Fine Dining. The service feels very artificial and pretentious. Gone are the days when there was authentic and tasty food which was served with Genuine service-mindedness. The Food should be the main protagonist While ambience & service should elevate the overall experience. But it's missing at most of these places. Even When I re-visited the restaurants that used to serve their signature dishes lacked the flavour and substance that they were known for before. I think its time to start cooking at home . You Will avoid the Bangalore Traffic, The loud music, The Crazy Crowd, Tasteless Food while saving your precious time, money & Energy. Its Time to come out of the "Fancy Fine Dine " Illusion and ponder upon making more meaningful decisions.

Bangalore to Mangalore via Shiradi ghat the time is less as the highway is widened. I just drove from Mangalore to Bangalore via Shiradi is pretty good but the roads from BC road until Nelyadi in between the roads were bad also this time we skipped entering Shaklespur town skipped as the new road got opened for Public

Kripal well summarized with current Gen Z opting for colorful restaurants but is the food great not sure as you mentioned is it the food or only the ambiance. In you current series in Food Lovers TV you have been visiting as Angel Investor to some small enterprises that are serving great food this is something that bigger or colorful restaurant's must catch up. No doubt they also have some signature dishes but we cannot really count while the MSME has few and you want to visit for their taste. Thank you for this great summary 🙂

I totally agree with you. Its quite hard to find that simple shack or even a good restaurant which have gastronomic innovation! May be thats why we dont have michelin stars by the street corner but only in handful high end restaurants beyond the reach on common man.

I have many times made a mistake of visiting these insta pic type restaurants....but when the food comes it's very less quantity over priced and not tasty.....gone are days where restaurants were known for thier signature dishes...like trincas chicken a la kiev ,or in Mangalore Diana cutlet, etc paragon appam and stew.....these new gen restaurants are only becoming good for pics

A restaurant should be a result of "someone knows how to cook some special food+someone wanted to serve it to it's audience the most special way" Few places these days feels like "look! Taj Mahal now has a food menu too!" I am a good cook myself, occasionally an item I make, I feel like more people should have tasted this.
